South Beach, il sole sulla pelle, l’oceano Atlantico, le torrette colorate dei bagnini, le palme e le facciate Art Déco di Ocean Drive. Tutto sembra costruito per essere guardato.
A qualche metro da me, un corpo disteso al sole, lo guardo e mi fa desiderare il suo sapore. Il pomeriggio scivola lentamente verso la sera, senza avere fretta di tornare, aspetta quel momento in cui Miami cambia pelle e il cielo si tinge di rosa.
Le piastrelle gialle della mia doccia entrano nell'immagine come un'altra superficie di Miami: South Beach diventa così un luogo da cui non voglio davvero andarmene.
South Beach—the sun on my skin, the Atlantic Ocean, colorful lifeguard towers, palm trees, and the Art Deco facades of Ocean Drive. Everything seems designed to be looked at.
A few meters away, a body stretched out in the sun. I look at him, and he makes me crave his taste. The afternoon slowly slips into evening, with no hurry to leave, waiting for that moment when Miami changes its skin and the sky turns pink.
The yellow tiles of my shower enter the image as another surface of Miami: South Beach becomes a place I don’t really want to leave.
